Foreign Minister extends National Day greetings to Malaysia

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Mohamed Asim extends greetings and felicitations to the government and the people of Malaysia on its National Day celebration.

In a message to Minister of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia Dato' Sri Anifah Aman, Foreign Minister, Mohamed Asim extended warm congratulations to the Malaysian government and people of Malaysia on the auspicious occasion of the National Day of Malaysia on behalf of the Government and the people of Maldives.

Minister Asim wished his counterpart good health and continued success in his endeavor to bring growth and prosperity to Malaysia. With great contentment, the Minister noted that the cooperation in all spheres have intensified between Maldives and Malaysia, increasing the people to people contact to a higher level for mutual benefit of trade, commerce and beyond as Malaysia and Maldives commemorate the 49th anniversary year of the formal establishment of bilateral relations.

The Minister expressed gratitude for the hospitality accorded by the Government of Malaysia to the vast number of Maldivians residing in Malaysia for various purposes.

Malaysia remains a key partner in development. Both Maldives and Malaysia cooperates closely at various international forums for the shared common interest and collective benefit. The Maldives and Malaysia enjoys long history of enduring friendship based on shared values, common faith, and mutual interest.
