International Workshop on Islamic Culture and Moderation (Balagh) conducted by King Khalid University in Saudi Arabia has begun in the Maldives.
This is the first round of the international workshop held by the King Khalid University, which is being held in the Maldives in collaboration with Islamic University of Maldives (IUM).
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the workshop, Chancellor of IUM, Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed said the fact that the first round of the international workshop is being held at IUM proves the strong relationship between IUM and Saudi Universities. He said that a delegation of the King Khalid University being sent to the Maldives to oversee the organization of the workshop shows the strong trust, respect and priority given to Maldivian Education System by the King Khalid University.

The bilingual workshop will be conducted in Arabic and English and is open for both teachers and public, according to IUM. It will be carried out in two sessions, with the morning session specialized for religious scholarly awareness programmes and afternoon session will be targeted for teachers and university students. IUM says that the workshop is facilitated by professors of King Khalid University.
The King Khalid University delegation visiting Maldives for the workshop is scheduled to visit Saudi Embassy in Maldives, the Centre for Holy Quran, Maldives National University and Arabia School as well as meet with ministers and officials of the government.
The workshop will be held till the 19th of this month. Interviewing sessions for students who win scholarships through the workshop will be held next Wednesday.
