Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA) has posted a revenue of MVR906 million for the state in the month of June, which is a 39.9% decrease compared to the same period of last year.
In the latest statistics released on the website, MIRA attributes the decline in revenue due to the extension of the deadline for businesses to make GST, BPT, Green Tax and Tourism Lease Rent. Statistics for June showed that most revenue was collected through GST which amounts to MVR238 million and 26.3% of the total revenue.
Furthermore, the statistics also showed that the revenue collected during the first six months of 2017 was at MVR6.3 billion which is a 7.3% increase compared to the same period of last year.
