Maldives Police Service has revealed that they have attained evidence against Member of Parliament for Dhiggaru Constituency Faris Maumoon, in a bribery case involving some Members of Parliament. Addressing a press conference held this afternoon, Spokesperson of Police, Superintendent of Police Ahmed Shifaan revealed that the case is under investigation and suspects have been arrested in connection with the case.
Shifan further advised anyone with information regarding the case to come forward. Police also revealed that they are on the lookout for Ahmed Sofwan, a suspect in the investigation into the bribery allegations.
Faris has also been charged with identity theft and summoned to Criminal Court.
