Maldives Meteorological Service has said that the weather conditions affecting neighboring countries would not affect Maldives.
The combined effects of the Southwest monsoon rains and storms affecting South India and Sri Lanka is not likely to have any effect on Maldives, according to Maldives Meteorological Service. The Meteorological Office does not forecast similar weather conditions in Maldives based on the direction the storm is travelling.
However, rains caused by the Southwest monsoon have not yet subsided and the Meteorological Service forecasts isolated showers and a few thunderstorms in central and northern atolls with few showers in southern atolls. Seas are expected to be moderate in southern atolls and rough elsewhere.
