Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA) has revealed the names of businesses that are defaulting on Goods and Services Tax (GST) payment, for the fourth quarter of 2016.
The list consists of information about 91 businesses from the greater Male' region, who are defaulting on fourth quarter GST payments. They include 16 businesses from the tourism sector and 75 businesses from other sectors.
According to MIRA, before revealing the information about these businesses, MIRA had tried to contact them by phone, through text messages and even by visiting office premises of the businesses.
