A special workshop for personals involved in overseeing the security of airports has begun in Maldives. The workshop is organized as part of the corporate aviation security program, CASP-AP.
The workshop titled "CASP-AP Airport Security Program Development Workshop" will be held from 8th to 11th of this month. The workshop is organized as part of the corporate aviation security program, CASP-AP. The workshop is targeted for senior and middle managements officials involved in drafting security policies and maintaining security of airports. The workshop is attended by officials from the Maldives as well as aviation security officials from Bhutan, Indonesia, Philippines, Sri Lanka and Thailand.
During the program, the participants will be informed on ways to integrate CASP-AP regulations into national airport surveillance and security policies. 25 participants are attending the workshop.

Speaking during the opening of the workshop held at Coast Guard Building, Defence Minister Adam Shareef Umar said that the workshop would be helpful for officials working in the aviation security sector to identify obstacles and establish ways to overcome such predicaments.
Today's event also saw the launching of the quality control phase 3 workshop to be held from 14th to 18th of May. Officials from Ministry of Defence, Aviation Security Command, officials from Addu international airport and Maldives Airport Company, Dhaalu Domestic Airport and TMA are attending the workshop.
