Baa Atoll Biosphere Reserve Office has announced a guest house conference to be held for resorts operated in the atoll.
The prospered conference will be held to promote Biosphere reserve amongst tourists, according to the Baa Atoll Biosphere Reserve Office. The Guest House Conference will be held on 9th May in Baa Atoll Eydhafushi.
Biosphere Reserve Office says that over 50 representatives from 23 resorts in Baa Atoll are to participate in the guest house conference. Resorts from other atolls in the region will also participate in the event.
Outreach officer at Biosphere Reserve Office, Shaafy Ali said that their aim is to promote the Biosphere reserve to tourists through hotels and resorts in the region. Shaafy said that they will expand the scope of the conference to a nationwide event depending on the success of the initial event.
Baa Atoll was declared a biosphere reserve by UNESCO in 2011.
