Defence Minister Adam Shareef Umar has stated that obstacles faced by Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) will be resolved within a year, through direct supervision and advice of President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom. He made the remarks at the official function held to mark the 125th anniversary of MNDF.
Addressing the function, as the guest of honor, Defence Minister Adam Shareef applauded MNDF’s success last year in accomplishing its responsibility of maintaining peace and security within the country. He expressed hope of overcoming major obstacles faced by MNDF within this year, through steps taken under direct supervision and advice of President Abdullah Yameen.
229 awards of recognition were conferred to MNDF officers and civilians who have served MNDF in different ways.
