MWSC To Establish A Bottling Plant In Dhuvaafaru

Dhuvaafaru Island Council hands over land allocated to Male' Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC) to establish a bottling plant.

Speaking in a ceremony held to handover the land, the Managing Director of MWSC, Fazul Rasheed said that the company aims to establish the plant next year.

“The company would spend 15 million Rufiyaa for the plant that will have a capacity to produce 6000 bottles, every hour”, said Fazul.

He also said that establishing a bottling plant in Dhuvaafaru would cut down the logistics cost of the Company.

“The nearby islands would also benefit from establishing such a plant in Dhuvaafaru, as the project would also create several job opportunities in the area”, he further added that.

MWSC also has plans to establish bottling factories in Kulhudhufushi Island and Maafushi Island.

This is the first such project MWSC is conducting outside the capital, Male' City.
