Turkish Airlines has announced an increase in its flight operations to the Maldives during the summer period.
The additional flights will operate between Istanbul and Malé, enhancing connectivity between the two destinations.
The expanded schedule will run from 13 October to 20 October. During this period, flights from Istanbul to Malé will operate every Wednesday, while return flights from Malé to Istanbul will be operated every Thursday. This adjustment will increase the airline’s weekly flights between the Maldives and Istanbul from four to six.
According to the revised schedule, flights will depart Istanbul at 20:20 and arrive in Malé at 06:30 the following day. The return flight will depart Malé at 08:00 and arrive in Istanbul at 14:20.
The increase in flights is expected to provide greater convenience for travellers from European and North American markets. As Istanbul serves as a major global transit hub, the route also offers an alternative for passengers amid changing airspace conditions in the Middle East.
Industry stakeholders say the expanded service is likely to boost the Maldives’ tourism sector and facilitate business travel, reflecting growing confidence in the country as a leading long-haul destination.
