Fenaka Corporation Limited plans to build an engineering school in Addu City, according to the corporation’s Managing Director Mohamed Najah.
Speaking on PSM News’ Raajje Miadhu programme, work on the project began late last year, and necessary documents have been submitted to the Addu City Council. Emphasising the corporation’s high interest in implementing the project, Najah said construction will proceed once land is allocated.
The training school will provide technical training in areas such as water and sewerage, electricity, and solar systems. Najah said the company is in discussions with a foreign company to provide authorised training programmes.
The facility is expected to become a major hub for staff development, offering certification and hands-on experience, and in turn, increasing service quality and employee productivity. Technical teams from various islands will be trained in Addu City, he added.
According to Fenaka, the trainings will reduce generator breakdowns and shorten system downtime. If executed according to plan, the project will bring advancement to the company, it said.
