King Salman’s iftar programme launched in the Maldives

An iftar programme sponsored by Saudi Arabia’s King Salman Bin Abdulaziz has been launched in the Maldives.

The programme was launched at a special ceremony held at the Islamic Centre by Minister of Islamic Affairs Dr Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed.

Under the programme, 150 individuals will receive iftar meals every day throughout Ramadan. Organised by the Saudi Embassy in the Maldives, the initiative highlights the strong relationship between both countries, the Minister said.

A high-level delegation from the Saudi Ministry of Islamic Affairs arrived in the Maldives for the inauguration. Dr. Shaheem noted that there are plans in place for both countries to carry out collaborative activities.

Saudi Arabia implements this Ramadan initiative in the Maldives every year during the holy month.
