The practical work of the "Cool School" project, contracted to Fenaka Corporation Limited, has commenced.
The project aims to air-condition government schools across the Maldives as a permanent solution to the heat discomfort faced by students and teachers due to the high level of heat experienced while studying in classrooms. It is overseen by the Ministry of Education, with guidance from President Dr Mohamed Muizzu.
Fenaka Corporation Limited said that all schools in the country will be equipped with air conditioning under the project. The corporation is currently installing ACs in schools in the Greater Male’ area, with over 75 percent of schools fitted with indoor AC units so far.
The corporation is working to complete the installation of ACs in all schools in the Greater Male’ area before the start of the new academic year.
