President sends condolences after deadly Thailand rail crash

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has sent a message of condolence to Thailand’s Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul following a deadly railway accident in the Sikhio district of Nakhon Ratchasima province in Thailand.

In a statement, President Muizzu said he was deeply saddened by the incident, which killed dozens of people and left many others injured. He conveyed the sympathies of the Maldivian government and people to the Thailand authorities and to the families of those who lost their lives.

The president also wished a speedy recovery to the injured and said he hoped search and rescue efforts would continue without disruption as authorities worked to respond to the tragedy.
