President Muizzu Urges Citizens to Uphold Islamic Values

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has urged the public to ensure their conduct remains within the boundaries of Islam.

In a message shared on social media, the President said the Maldives is a 100 percent Muslim nation, and that every Maldivian should take pride in living in accordance with Islamic principles. Muslims must refrain from practices that are against the Islamic culture, he said.

The President also urged the film and entertainment industry to conduct its activities without going beyond the boundaries set by Islam.

He added that setting a good example for the younger generation, in accordance with Islamic culture, is the most valuable service citizens can offer to the nation.

The President has previously stated that his administration will always work to uphold the Maldives as a strong Islamic state and a country that takes the lead in defending the Islamic Ummah. He has said that a key priority of his government, alongside national development, is to build responsible citizens. He said the Maldives must remain a united country that cherishes its faith, speaks with kindness, and provides quality education and upbringing for its children.

One of the key policies of President Muizzu’s administration is to revitalise national identity and promoting the Islamic civilisation.
