Saudi Arabia’s Participation in ‘Vara’ Expo Reflects Strong Ties with Maldives, Says Ambassador Al-Qahtani

Saudi Arabia's participation in the 'Vara' expo, the national skills and career expo, symbolises the strength of the relationship between Maldives and Saudi Arabia, Saudi Arabia's Ambassador to the Maldives, Yahya Hassan Al Qahtani has said.

He made the remark in a special interview with PSM News during the Vara Expo.

Ambassador Al Qahtani described the event as a great success, noting that Saudi Arabia's participation in the expo reflects the close friendship and cooperation between the two nations. He highlighted that Saudi Arabia continues to offer scholarship opportunities to Maldivian students as part of the long-standing close partnership between the two countries. Saudi Arabia’s participation in the expo focuses on sharing information on educational opportunities.

"Every year, Saudi Arabia offers 350 scholarship opportunities to Maldivians to support access to higher education. This expo is a very important and inspiring event,” he said.

The Ambassador also invited all visitors to explore Saudi Arabia’s stall at the expo. In addition to education and scholarship opportunities in Saudi Arabia, the Saudi stall will also provide information on tourism, innovation and the Visit Saudi Programme. Details on the Makkah Road Initiative will also be showcased at the Saudi stand.

The Vara Expo is being held from 6 to 8 November in Central Park. The main objective of the expo is to bring together job seekers, students, employers, higher education institutions and vocational training institutions under one platform.
