Maafushi Island, Kaafu Atoll, is set to become the first island outside Malé City to receive Dhiraagu fibre broadband internet service.
Telecom provider Dhiraagu on Saturday said work to lay a fibre network in the island has been completed.
It will roll out the service in Maafushi on Wednesday with a special promotion.
According to Dhiraagu, it would provide speeds of up to 100 mbps, including 1 TB data allowance packages.
Dhiraagu currently has fibre networks in Malé and Hulhumalé.
