Maldives is once again nominated at the World Travel Awards (WTA) 2025, having secured two prestigious titles at the Indian Ocean level and moving forward to compete in the World Category Awards.
The Maldives is nominated for World’s Leading Destination 2025 and World’s Leading Green Destination 2025, two of the highest honours in global travel and tourism.
The Maldives has a proud history at the World Travel Awards, having consecutively won the title of World’s Leading Destination for the past five years reflecting the continued global recognition of the Maldives as a destination of unmatched natural beauty, luxury hospitality, and authentic cultural experiences.
This year, the Maldives is also competing for World’s Leading Green Destination 2025, an honour that highlights the nation’s commitment to sustainability, environmental stewardship, and community-driven conservation.
According to the Visit Maldives Corporation (VMC, winning this award would further underscore the Maldives’ reputation as not only a leading holiday destination but also as a champion of responsible tourism.

Voting for the World Travel Awards 2025 will take place from 6 to 26 October.
