Contracts Awarded for Mosque Construction in Mathiveri and Rinbidhoo

The government has awarded contracts for the construction of new mosques in Mathiveri of Alifu Alifu Atoll and Rinbidhoo of Dhaalu Atoll.

The Ministry of Islamic Affairs awarded the contract to build a 500-capacity mosque in Mathiveri to K&F Holdings Pvt Ltd. The project includes a prayer hall, a library, and a classroom.

A similar 500-capacity mosque in Rinbidhoo has been contracted to Afami Maldives Pvt Ltd, featuring a prayer hall, a library and a classroom.

Both mosques will be developed in an environmentally friendly manner, powered by solar energy, and equipped with air-conditioning. Dedicated prayer space for women will also be included.

The government has decided to include classrooms and libraries in all new mosque projects to promote Islamic education, including Quran classes, religious studies, and other community activities. All recent mosque projects include these features.

The state is currently implementing mosque construction projects nationwide, including both new developments and the resumption of stalled projects. Many of these efforts are also supported by contributions from well-wishers.
