UK Tourists to Maldives Cross 100,000 Midway Through 2025

The United Kingdom (UK) has become the third country to cross the 100,000 tourist arrivals mark so far this year, the Ministry of Tourism and Environment figures have shown.

According to the Ministry, a total of 1,074,703 tourists have arrived in the Maldives so far this year, registering a 9.1 percent increase over the same period last year.

The UK joins China and Russia in crossing the 100,000 tourists mark so far this year.

The latest tourism figures showed that Maldives welcomes 6,176 tourists on average every day.

The majority of tourists have spent their holidays in resorts so far this year, with 72.1 percent of tourists, followed by guest houses with 22.7 percent and tourist hotels in third with 2.8 percent.
