Addu Equatorial Hospital's Cath Lab services will be available within the next four months, the Minister of Health Abdulla Nazim Ibrahim has assured.
In a written response to a question by a lawmaker over the delay in the commencement of the cath lab services, Minister Nazim explained that after the structural changes to the hospital building, 98 percent of the works related to the installation of machineries have now been completed.
The hospital has now announced for interested parties to operate and manage the cath lab, he said.
The Minister said after the proposals are reviewed and a party is selected, cath lab services are expected to be available to the public within the next four months.
The Ministry of Finance and Planning had announced for interested parties to manage and operate the Cath Lab at the Addu Equatorial Hospital for a period of five years. Those interested in running the lab are invited to submit an "Expression of Interest", EOI by 2:00 pm on 29 June.
