The government will honour the best students of the 2023 and 2024 secondary and higher secondary examinations on Saturday and Sunday, the Ministry of Education has said.
Due to the volume of students being honoured this year, the ceremony will be scheduled to be held at the Social Centre and will take place in five sessions across the two days.
The ceremony will include the presentation of the Presidential Prize for the 1st place students in O/L and A/L, the Presidential Scholarship for the 1st place students in A/L and the High Achievement Scholarship for the students who have achieved A pass or above.
More than 1,800 students who have achieved the best results in the secondary and higher secondary examinations will receive the awards at the ceremony, the Ministry said.
In the 2023-2022 higher secondary examinations, 376 students have made it to the national top 10 with the best results. A total of 441 students were honoured, including those who were placed in the World Top 10 in the secondary examinations.
This year's A/L examination ended on 11 June with a total of 8,362 students sitting the exams across the country. These include the 7,666 students who sat for the Cambridge IGCE A/L examination and 7,519 students who sat for the SSC examination.
