MTCC Looks to Top This Year’s Operational Performance Next Year

The Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) will complete 59 projects this year, the State-owned company’s CEO Ahmed Saudy has said.

In an exclusive interview with PSM News, Saudi revealed that MTCC has been tasked with the completion of projects that had been stalled during the previous Administration to add to its overall ongoing project portfolio.

Accordingly, a total 59 projects, which include 20 special projects and 39 ongoing projects, will be completed and handed over this year, he said.

According to Saudy, MTCC tackles six or seven projects on average every month, which will see the company complete 72 projects next year.

"In 2026, we will complete 72 projects. These will include special projects and ongoing projects. By 2028, we will complete all but four of the ongoing projects," he said.

Saudy said the company is working with the government and relevant Ministries to achieve its current target, adding that by the end, the company will help President Dr Mohamed Muizzu fulfil several presidential pledges made to the people.

Highlighting the significance of investing in improving MTCC’s human resource capacity, Saudy said the company will have the capacity to carry out more than 150 projects simultaneously by the end of next year.
