Maldives and Kuwait Discuss Deepening Cooperation During High-Level Meeting

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr Abdulla Khaleel, has held discussions with Kuwait’s Acting Prime Minister and Minister of the State of Kuwait, Sheikh Fahad Yousef Al-Saud Al-Sabah, focusing on strengthening bilateral cooperation and exploring new opportunities for partnership. The meeting was held as part of the Minister’s ongoing official visit to Kuwait.

During the audience held at Bayan Palace, Minister Khaleel conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from President Dr Mohamed Muizzu to Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Amir of the State of Kuwait, and the esteemed leadership of Kuwait.

Minister Khaleel reflected on the longstanding bonds of brotherhood between the Maldives and Kuwait, rooted in mutual respect, shared values, and a common Islamic heritage. He also expressed heartfelt gratitude to the government and leadership of Kuwait for the generous assistance and support extended to the Maldives over the years, particularly in the country’s socio-economic development.

The Acting Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Fahad Yousef Al-Saud Al- Sabah, reaffirmed the government of Kuwait’s commitment to strengthening the close cooperation between the two countries and expressed interest in exploring new avenues for mutually beneficial collaboration.

The Acting Prime Minister and Minister of Interior was accompanied by  Shareeda Abdullah Saad Al-Maousherji, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs, Abdulaziz Dakhil Al-Dakhil, Chief of the Prime Minister’s Diwan, and Assistant Foreign Minister to Asian Affairs Samih Essa Jowhar Hayat. Minister Dr Khaleel was accompanied by Joint Secretary, Khadeeja Najeeha and Political Director, Fathimath Nasha Ismail.
