Gov't. Launches Driving Test Track in Dhaandhoo to Expand Accessibility

A new driving test track has been inaugurated in Dhaandhoo, Gaafu Alifu Atoll, as part of efforts towards decentralising government services. With the opening of the facility, the Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation announced it will begin offering services for the issuance of 'A' category driving licences in Dhaandhoo.

This development is expected to bring considerable relief to the residents of Dhaandhoo and the surrounding areas, according to the ministry. Previously, individuals seeking driving licences had to travel to other islands or the capital, Malé City, incurring significant time and financial costs. The new track will alleviate this burden, the ministry added.

The establishment of the driving test track in Dhaandhoo is part of the government's broader initiative to provide services in a decentralised manner across the country. It also aligns with the government's commitment to ensuring that all citizens have convenient access to essential services.

The ministry stated that the ongoing project to establish driving test tracks in various regions of the country aims to provide all citizens with easier opportunities to obtain driving licences. It believes that these measures will enhance road safety and increase public confidence in the licence issuance process. According to the ministry, these new steps will lead to a more robust licensing system nationwide, ultimately benefiting the citizens of the country.
