The national airline, Maldivian has denied rumours of an increase in fares for its economy class passengers following the introduction of a new class on its flights.
Responding to rumours, Maldivian insisted that the 'Premium Economy' was a new class and there will be no change in fares for its economy class on its flights.
The Premium Economy class is part of a broader effort to ensure ease and satisfaction for travellers, Maldivian had said.
Passengers opting for Premium Economy will enjoy an expanded range of benefits designed to streamline their journeys. Key features include a 25-kilogram baggage allowance, one complimentary date change, and priority check-in, catering to travellers seeking a hassle-free experience. Enhanced seating arrangements offer additional comfort, the airline has said, while the in-flight menu will feature curated snacks and beverages tailored to premium travel.
Bookings for premium economy seats are now open through the airline's website, mobile application, and official booking channels. The rollout coincides with Maldivian's expanded fleet capabilities, underscored by its recently acquired wide-body aircraft.
