Maldives Customs Service has reported an import-export revenue of USD23.5 million for February.
According to Customs statistics, the Maldives import-export revenue was USD23.5 million in February which is 26.7 percent more than the USD18.6 million recorded the month before.
The statistics show that USD85.3 million worth of goods was imported into the Maldives, considerably less than the USD337 million in January.
The United Arab Emirates (UAE), India, China, Singapore and Sri Lanka were the largest importers in February where food items, fuel, machinery and electronics topped the list of major imports.
In February, import sources were as follows:
UAE: USD87 million
India: USD48.5 million
China: USD39.3 million
Singapore: USD22.3 million
Sri Lanka: USD15.6 million
According to the figures, exports into the country in February stood at USD14.5 million as opposed to USD9.3 million the month before.
Thailand, the United Kingdom, India, Vietnam and Bangladesh were the top export destinations in February, according to customs data, with fish products being the primary export of the island nation.

In February, canned tuna exports generated USD2.3 million in revenue while frozen fish brought in USD7.4 million.
