Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has announced changes to its ferry and bus service hours during the month of Ramadan.
According to MTCC, in the greater Male’ area, bus services from Male’ to Hulhumale’ Phase 1 and from Male’ to Hulhumale’ Phase 2 are scheduled to start from 7:00 am. Bus service will continue Ifthar and recommence from 7:20 pm until midnight.
Bus service on Orchid, Ameenee and Sosun Magu routes will start at 7:00 am and will continue until 6:00 pm. Services will resume at 9:00 pm and continue till midnight, MTCC said.
In addition to bus services, MTCC’s ferry service hours on 68 routes in six zones across 20 Atolls have also been changed for Ramadan. As the ferry service is used for essential needs and transportation of goods, MTCC has changed the schedule to make it as convenient as possible for the people during Ramadan.
The primary scheduling change to the Raajje Transport Link (RTL) ferry services this Ramadan has been to complete the last journey of any route before sunset. MTCC has also said that RTL ferries will not operate on Fridays during Ramadan.
