People across the country are celebrating Eid-al-Fitr marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan.
Eid-al-Fitr festivities began with Eid prayers held in mass congregations across the country.
Thousands attended the main congregation in Male’ that was held atthe Islamic Centre Wednesday morning.
Eid prayer congregations were also held in 23 other mosques in Male’ and all inhabited islands across the country.
The Eid sermon urged youth to continue the acts of worshipperformed during the holy month of Ramadan, and practice spiritual disciplineand devotion throughout their lives.
The sermon highlighted 6 major points including remaining religious and pious even after Ramadan, urging youth towards discipline and practicing good deeds, urging women to further their religious knowledge, to devote themselves in proper upbringing of children and remaining as good spouses and homemakers.
