Maldives Hajj Corp., Saudi Ministry in Crucial Talks for Upcoming Hajj

Senior representatives of the Maldives Hajj Corporation have held discussions with officials from the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. These deliberations centred on the preparations required for the Hajj pilgrimage of the current Hijri year, 1446.

Deputy Managing Director Ali Shareef and Irfan Anwar, Head of Hajj and Umrah Operations, represented the Hajj Corporation during the meeting. The discussions were focused on ensuring a seamless journey and stay for Maldivian pilgrims travelling to Saudi Arabia for the sacred pilgrimage, according to the Hajj Corporation.

The primary agenda of the meeting, according to the Hajj Corporation, encompassed detailed planning for the accommodation of Maldivian pilgrims in the holy sites of Mina, Muzdalifah, and Mount Arafat. Logistical arrangements for transportation between these sacred sites were also discussed to guarantee the utmost convenience and safety for the pilgrims, it said. Attention was also directed towards addressing the complexities associated with acquiring the necessary permits for Maldivian Hajj pilgrims.

In the preceding year, a total of 1,150 Maldivian pilgrims embarked on the Hajj pilgrimage through the Maldives Hajj Corporation. The Maldivian government consistently undertakes extensive preparations annually to facilitate a hassle-free pilgrimage experience for its citizens.
