Vice President Hussain Mohamed Latheef has visited the Permanent Mission of the Maldives to the United Nations in New York on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly, currently underway in the city.
Permanent Representative of the Maldives to the United Nations, Dr Ali Naseer Mohamed, welcomed the Vice President to the Mission.
During a meeting at the Mission, the Vice President recognised its efforts to ensure the Maldives' voice is heard at the United Nations and conveyed the Government's appreciation for its work. He discussed the planning and management of the Mission's work and sought clarification on related matters.
Minister of Foreign Affairs Iruthisham Adam and Minister of Education Dr Ismail Shafeeu also attended the meeting. The Vice President later signed the Mission's visitors' book as part of his visit.
Vice President Hussain Mohamed Latheef travelled to New York on 20 September to participate in the High-Level Week of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.
