The National Awards Committee has opened nominations for the National Award for Public Service.
The Awards Committee has published the award criteria in the Government Gazette. Nominations can be submitted until 13:00 on Thursday, 18 March, via the designated portal for the award on the President’s Office website.
The National Award for Public Service is presented by the President to individuals who have served in government offices, state-owned enterprises, or a company where the government holds a majority share. To qualify, nominees must have worked for over 35 years in any of these sectors. Nominations can be submitted by organisations or individual applicants. The President will award a shield, a badge of honour, and a certificate as an award for service to the Government.
The President’s Office said as in previous years, the President has sent the information of long-serving government employees to the National Awards committee. This year, the President sent the information of those who have served the state for more than 42 years. Last year, he submitted the names of those who have served the state for over 43 years.
The National Awards Committee will take into consideration the quality of the nominees’ work and their contributions to the development of their respective fields. The award would also recognise the nominees’ achievements.
