Bangladesh tightens security in wake of terror attacks

Security has been tightened around the Bangladeshi attack site and hospitals, one day after militants killed at least 20 in a restaurant in the capital Dhaka.

Seven militants who killed 20 people were local Bangladeshis and authorities had tried before to arrest five of them, as investigators probed for possible links with international extremist groups.

The gunmen stormed the upmarket restaurant in the diplomatic zone late on Friday, before killing hostages, including at least nine Italians, seven Japanese and an American.
