State institutions to conduct more social development programmes

State institutions say many social development initiatives are on the cards under their social responsibility programme “Aaro”. 

Under the first phase of the programme launched in June, over one thousand trees were planted in the area reclaimed under the second phase of Hulhumale’ development project.

Organisers are also planning similar tree plantation drives across the country.

14 state institutions are participating in the programme.

Acting head of the steering committee of “Aaro” programme, President of Civil Service Commission Dr Ali Shameem said 'blood donation drives and various social development programmes are planned for coming months."
