BML Partners with Angolhitheemu Council to Establish ATM Services

An agreement has been signed between the Bank of Maldives (BML) and the Angolhitheemu Council of Raa Atoll to provide ATM services on the island.

The agreement was signed during a meeting with the residents of Angolhitheemu as part of President Dr Mohamed Muizzu’s ongoing visit to several islands of Raa Atoll.

BML’s Director of Retail and SME Banking, Badhruddeen Hassan signed the agreement on behalf of the bank, while the President of the Angolhitheemu Council, Faisal Naseem signed on behalf of the council.

In November last year, BML announced an ambitious initiative to install ATMs in all inhabited islands by the end of 2025. This initiative aligns with the President's pledge to provide ATM services in all inhabited islands of the Maldives, ensuring that all Maldivians have access to banking services.

Currently, BML operates 150 ATMs across 90 islands. The bank aims to install ATMs in 17 additional islands by the end of March 2025.
