Maldives and Pakistan Pledge to Strengthen Ties as New High Commissioner Assumes Office

The newly appointed High Commissioner of Pakistan to the Maldives, Vice Admiral (Retd.) Faisal Rasul Lodhi, has called on Maldivian Foreign Minister Dr Abdulla Khaleel to discuss enhancing bilateral relations and mutual cooperation.

During the meeting held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Minister Dr Khaleel welcomed the High Commissioner and congratulated him on his appointment. Discussions focused on ways to further strengthen and diversify the brotherly relations that exist between the Maldives and Pakistan. Minister Dr Khaleel thanked the Government of Pakistan for the continued support and assistance provided in the areas of human resource development.

The High Commissioner assured his commitment to working closely with the Maldivian government to enhance collaboration in areas that are of mutual benefit to both countries. 

Minister Dr Khaleel was accompanied by Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sheryna Abdul Samad, Additional Secretary Aminath Abdulla Didi, and Director Asheer Abdul Azeez. The High Commissioner was accompanied by Second Secretary Zulqurnain Ahmad.
