Parliament Forwards Graft Watchdog Nominees to Committee for Vetting

The Parliament on Monday forwarded the nominations of President Dr Mohamed Muizzu to the Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) to the Parliamentary Independent Institutions Committee.

President Muizzu has nominated Ahmed Nashid and Abdulla Nashid to the ACC and sent the nominations for Parliament approval.

During Monday’s extraordinary sitting, the Parliament has forwarded the nominations to the Parliamentary Independent Institutions Committee which will now evaluate the two nominees.

The two membership positions at the ACC were vacated after ACC Vice President Abdul Salaam and member Thoha Mohamed had resigned amid serious allegations of corruption and abuse of power.
