The Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has unveiled an innovative online dashboard, titled 'MTCC Projects,' designed to provide detailed insights into the various projects undertaken by the company nationwide.
The MTCC Projects dashboard offers comprehensive information on all ongoing projects, highlighting their scope, type, and completion percentages. The company is currently managing 152 infrastructure development projects, according to the latest data uploaded to the new dashboard. Physical work is actively progressing on 59 of these projects, while 48 projects have been stalled due to various reasons. The dashboard also shows that work has yet to commence on 45 additional projects.
MTCC Managing Director Ahmed Saudee spearheaded the launch of this informative dashboard, the company said, adding that it aims to enhance public transparency regarding the company's extensive infrastructure projects. This initiative aligns with the administration of President Dr Mohamed Muizzu, which inherited a substantial number of pending projects from the previous government. Upon assuming office in November 2023, Dr Muizzu's administration commenced work on several of these previously delayed projects.
Established in 1980, MTCC holds the distinction of being the longest-serving public company in the country. The company was founded with the objective of contributing to the development of infrastructure and transport services across the country.
MTCC's portfolio includes a wide range of services such as construction and project management, logistical operations, modern transport solutions, engineering and docking services, and the supply of reputable products like Yanmar and Suzuki marine engines, Castrol lubricants, and PPG protective coatings.
