President Receives Warm Welcome from Gulhi, Kaafu Atoll

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu was warmly welcomed by the residents of Gulhi, Kaafu Atoll upon his arrival on the island on Sunday.

Dozens of people had gathered near the harbour to greet the President as he arrived on the island on his first official visit of the year.

The President is scheduled to engage with the island community, the Island Council, and the Women’s Development Committee (WDC) to address important developmental priorities of the island during this one-day visit.

This visit marks the President’s first island visit of the year as part of his ongoing programme of visiting all the atolls, which he initiated in 2024. Through this programme, he aims to engage in discussions with local councils across the atolls, islands, and cities. During his visits, the President consults with the island residents, enquires about their wellbeing and aspirations, and discusses the prioritisation of development projects.

The President is accompanied by a high-level government delegation during this tour.
