President Dr Mohamed Muizzu on Friday extended condolences on the passing of former Minister of Tourism Ibrahim Hussain Zaki’s spouse Husna Moosa.
In his social media post, the President expressed deep sadness upon learning of the passing of Zaki’s spouse and extended sincere condolences to the family at this difficult time.
In addition to the President, Vice President Hussain Mohamed Latheef had also extended a message of condolence following the passing of Zaki’s family.
A distinguished statesman, Zaki had served as the Minister of Tourism from 1993 to 1998 before he was appointed as the Secretary General of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC).
Zaki had also served as the Special Envoy to former President Mohamed Nasheed.
In honour of his distinguished service to the State, Zaki was conferred with the Most Honourable Order of the Distinguished Rule of Izzuddin in 2011.
