The Ambassador of the Maldives to China Dr Fazeel Najeeb has presented his Letter of Credence to the President of China, Xi Jinping.
The Letter of Credence was presented at a special ceremony held Friday at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.
During the proceedings, Ambassador Fazeel conveyed best wishes and greetings from President Dr Mohamed Muizzu, and the people of Maldives to President Xi and the friendly people of China. President Xi welcomed Ambassador Fazeel and congratulated him on his appointment, assuring him full cooperation in strengthening the close bilateral ties between both countries.
The Ambassador was accompanied by his spouse, Aminath Fareesha, at the ceremony.
The Maldives and China established diplomatic relations on 14 October 1972. Ambassador Fazeel is the fifth Ambassador of Maldives to China.
