Maldives Police Service (MPS) has initiated a special programme dubbed "Coffee With Cop" to engage with residents and address their concerns.
According to MPS, the programme, which involves meeting residents in a friendly environment, will be conducted in series.
Speaking to PSM News, Inspector of Police Haamidha Abdul Aleem said that the first session of the programme took place in Hulhumale' Phase II.
She noted that these informal discussions over coffee were well-received, with residents sharing their concerns with the police officers. Additionally, the meetings included conversations on how the police could enhance citizen safety and security while improving the quality of services provided.
The first Coffee With Cop programme was held in Buruzu Catering Café, situated in Hulhumale' Phase II, where several police officers engaged with the local community. MPS plans to continue organising additional sessions in the near future.
Through various initiatives, the MPS is striving to foster closer relationships with residents and address their concerns directly. While the Coffee With Cop was introduced on December 5, a programme under the name, Walk and Talk was also introduced last month, aiming to seek public opinion regarding the various services provided by MPS.
