The Muli Island Council has allocated 53,000 acres of land on the northern side of the island for the establishment of a tourism education and training centre. In line with this initiative, bids are now being invited from registered businesses in the Maldives, with the deadline for submission set for December 5.
The land will be leased for a period of 50 years, with the stipulation that the construction of the building be completed within 18 months of the project's commencement. Proposals should include plans for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), as well as educational and social activities that will benefit the local community.
Tourism development is a key priority for Muli, and the ongoing expansion of Muli Airport is expected to play a significant role in supporting this effort. The airport, closely linked to the aspirations of the local population, is a crucial element of the region's tourism strategy. The Muli Island Council is committed to expanding tourism, with the airport serving as a central hub for this growth. In this context, three plots of land have been designated for tourism-related development, one of which has been specifically allocated for the proposed tourism education and training centre.
