The Republic Day celebrations will take place in November 10, 2024, with the ceremony commencing at 20:00 hrs at Dharubaaruge.
During the event, President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu will address the nation. The President will also present special prizes to the winners, as well as confer the State Awards upon the recipients.
During the ceremony, President Muizzu will bestow the highest Civilian Honour, the Order of the Distinguished Rule of Izzuddin (ODRI), on the Chancellor of the Islamic University of Maldives (IUM), Dr. Mohamed Zahir Hussain, in recognition of his distinguished service and contributions to the education sector.
Furthermore, the Presidential Special Awards for Outstanding Services will be presented to 40 individuals, and the State Awards to 53 individuals.
