Maldives Food and Drug Authority (MFDA) has lifted the ban on Cofsy syrup, a medication prescribed for children showing symptoms of the common cold. Cofsy syrup is manufactured by India's MMC Health Care Limited.
The MFDA had previously prohibited the import, sale, and consumption of Cofsy syrup on August 19, due to quality concerns. The ban was imposed after MFDA detected the presence of some particles in the medicine.
Following this, MFDA stated that samples were collected from the Cofsy syrup batch in market and were tested. It announced that the test results indicated that there were no issues found in the medicine. Therefore, it has lifted the ban on importing, selling and utilising the medicine.
