Prosecutor General Abbas Shareef and Attorney General Ahmed Usham have held significant talks pertaining to the strengthening of the criminal justice system. The meeting took place at the Attorney General's Office (AGO).
During the meeting, Attorney General Usham congratulated Abbas, for being appointed as the Prosecutor General. The discussions between Usham and Abbas focused measures to undertake to strengthen the criminal justice system, and enhance it. Abbas also shared his vision on how to further enhance the criminal justice system. Furthermore, Usham encouraged Abbas to maintain integrity as he fulfils the responsibilities as the Prosecutor General.
According to Article 220 of the Constitution states that the Prosecutor General shall perform his duties and responsibilities transparently and with integrity, in accordance with the Constitution and laws passed by the Parliament. Therefore, the main policies and works of the Prosecutor General will be determined by the Attorney General.
