MET Office cautions against bad weather conditions for next three days

Maldives Meteorological Service (MET Office) has cautioned against unfavourable weather conditions for the upcoming three days.

The MET Office issued a white alert for the islands between Haa Alif Atoll and Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll, stating that heavy showers and thunderstorms were expected in the region. It further forecasted gusts up to 40 mph within clouds.

Furthermore, the MET Office stated that the weather conditions will worsen for various regions across the nation and some islands will experience heavy rainfall. Winds will also be strong for other regions, ranging from five to 15 mph. The MET Office also anticipated rough seas in the northern region of the country, adding that the wave lengths will vary from three to five feet.

The MET Office has urged all individuals, particularly seafarers, to be cautious of the unfavourable weather conditions, with high tides, strong winds and heavy showers.
