President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has sent the Independence Day greetings to the people of Maldives. Taking to social media, the President expressed hope that the noble blessing of freedom of the country will always be maintained.
The Maldives is celebrating its 59th Independence Day. The President is scheduled to address the nation at the official Independence Day function to be held at the Social Centre.
The ceremony will also see President Muizzu presenting the National Award for Public Service 138 recipients. The National Award for Public Service nominations were selected by the National Awards Committee, which was appointed by the President. The president recommended 70 individuals who have served the state for more than 43 years to the National Awards Committee.
