The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has deployed over 2,540 medical professionals, ambulance technicians, and administrative personnel. Members of the team will be strategically positioned across 98 ambulance centres, covering entry points, pilgrim routes, and holy sites.
The Saudi Red Crescent Authority (SRCA) is pulling out all the stops to ensure the well-being of pilgrims during the forthcoming Hajj season. The authority has decided to operate 100 health centres and mobilise its resources, aiming to deliver exceptional healthcare services.
Aiming to enhance the nation's frontline response capabilities, SRCA has allocated a significant portion of its ambulance fleet to the Hajj mission. This commitment includes 320 ambulances, complemented by a dedicated air wing comprising seven air ambulances and two medical evacuation helicopters. Additionally, the support fleet includes 15 motorcycles, 150 golf carts, 150 electric scooters, 27 electric bicycles and ten ambulance buses.
In addition to establishing advanced healthcare facilities in Mekkah, the administration has further expanded the medical facilities in Medina. As such, 18 health centres have been alerted. Meanwhile, SRCA enlisted volunteer individuals who will play a pivotal role in assisting with ambulance services at various locations. They will also engage in educating and raising awareness among pilgrims about essential preventive measures to safeguard their health during Hajj. The team will include translators available to facilitate the reception and dispatch of ambulance calls, ensuring seamless communication for diverse medical scenarios encountered during Hajj.
